We use British based methods which are non e-collar, non harsh force methods, rooted in dog behavior and psychology. Our methods have been used historically in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, and focus on training a steady dog with style and with the skills it takes to be an excellent hunting companion or competition dog.
We help train your dog, while we coach you to reach your goals. We will discuss your goals at your training session to be sure your training sessions help you get there.
We cater our training to you and your dog to help introduce you or bring you to your the next level of hunt training! We are here to diagnose and fix problems as they arise and get you back into the field or competing!
1.) Your dog MUST be friendly with people. For our safety, we do not allow dogs that are people shy with potential reactivity, or those where you aren't sure how your dog will react to having a stranger working with him/her.
2.) Please bring your own bumpers and whistle. If you don't have either, please still come and we will go over what equipment we recommend.
3.) Please bring a notebook that will be dedicated as your training log. You will need to take notes and log your training in and outside of your session. This will help you to see your progress and find the patterns in or training program.
4.) This session is specifically for those wanting to work on hunt related training. It is for newbies as well as seasoned teams needing to fix issues or wanting to work on drills.
5.) You may not share your time with any other dog/handler team. This session is specific to you and your dog and adding in another dog would disrupt the flow of the session.
6.) This is a rain or shine session. However, if dangerous weather arrives (tornadoes, blizzard), we will need to re-schedule you to another day.
7.) Please read our no refund policy. You must agree to the no refund policy before booking your session.
8.) Bring your own high value treats if you would like to train with treats. Be sure your treats are super high value. If your dog is picky, bring steak or hamburger if you need to. If you prefer not to work with treats that is fine to. We try to wean you off of treats as soon as possible to get to training without them.
9.) Please bring your dog on a slip lead or slip collar/training collar. Please don't bring a pinch that takes a long time to remove or a harness. You will need to be able to remove equipment and put it back on easily and quickly.
10.) There are no age requirements for your dog. Any puppies that have all their shots can come and get introduced to hunt work. We just need to take our time and not have too high of expectations.
Our hunt/field training will take place at: 3273 421st Ave NE Braham, MN 55006. Please meet at the east front gate (pool gate).
