May 12-14th Conformation Entry Form - Gundog Specialty

Restricted to only those breeds listed inthe UKC Gundog Group

ATTIRE REQUEST:
We ask that all exhibitors dress in traditional hunting attire (that which is traditional for the origin of their dogs). If you are unable to dress in traditional hunting attire, then we ask that you please dress in American bird hunting attire.

SPECIAL EXHIBITION CLASSES:
Wet Retrieve Class: After Group placements have occurred, we will have a special wet retrieve class. Dogs entered into this class, will be required to perform a water retrieve (the dog does not have to retrieve to hand but must swim out to the bird scented bumper and bring it back to land). The dog will have 3 minutes to complete the retrieve. Once the dog is back on land, it will be taken immediately into the ring to be judged wet, by the first judge for show 1 and then the second judge for show 2. There will be 4 placements chosen for each show. Fire hose with cork core style bumpers with bird (pheasant/grouse) scent will be used by the club. No substitutions allowed. Approximately 40 ft retrieve from land out to bumper. (distance may vary somewhat due to being thrown by hand)
UKC Hunt Title Class: This class is for any dog with a hunt title from UKC Affiliated organizations. Specifically: Hunting Retriever Club, National Bird Dog Circuit, National Shoot to Retrieve Association, United Field Trialers’ Association, American Pointing Labrador Association, Elite Shed Dogs. Classes will be broken down into specific titles or organization, if we have a large entry. Otherwise dogs will all go in together.
ABK Scurry Title Class: This class is for any dog that has received a title from Apple Blossom Kennels, in any level of our Scurry events. If we have a large entry, we will break each class down by specific title. Otherwise dogs will all go in together.

SPECIAL EVENTS & CELEBRATIONS:
1.) Friday May 12th – Top 10 Celebration
After Final Group placements and the conformation show is over, we will have a special celebration for top 10 gundog qualifiers of 2022. All top 10 gundogs in breed & group, will receive a rosette and will come into the ring for a victory lap. (pre-registration and small fee required)

2.) Friday May 12th – Potluck Social
Everyone welcome! Bring your own drink and a dish to share! Apple Blossom Kennels will have sloppy joes! (Please let us know on the entry page if you plan to attend so we can get a head count. We will share numbers expected with all so you can plan your dishes!)

3.) Saturday May 13th – Stud Dog Social
5pm-8pm Stud Dog Social under and by the pavilion. Drinks & Snacks for all! This event is a breeder networking event! Bring your stud dogs or up and coming stud dogs, for other breeders to meet, and for them to ask you questions and network! All gun dog breeds welcome! (pre-registration and small fee required for those displaying studs)
If you are interested in meeting the stud dogs or networking with other breeders, come on out and have some drinks and snacks and get social!
*Bring a kennel sign, business cards, etc. Display your studs on your grooming tables or ground, whatever works for you. Stud dog owners will have their own space to display their dog(s).
No other dogs allowed that are not included in stud dog pre-registration. Only pre-registered stud dogs allowed.

4.) Sunday May 14th – Mother's Day: Special Brood Bitch Recognition
All Brood Bitches entered into our Brood Bitch Classes will receive a special mother’s Day Sash

5.) Sunday May 14th – Junior Handler Recognition
All junior handlers entered into our junior handler competition on May 14th, will receive a special Junior Gundog Handler Sash.

6.) Sunday May 14th – Junior Handler Ice Cream Social
Following Junior Handler conformation, ice cream and toppings provided by Apple Blossom Kennels

7.) May 12th-14th - HEALTH CLINIC
Health Clinic On-Site with Dr. Dan Butterfield DVM offering OFA Hips, Elbows, Patellas & Microchips (non-sedation preferred, sedation if needed)

SHOW ENTRY INFORMATION:

Online Entries REQUIRED! Go to www.appleblossomkennels.com to enter online!!!(Only pre-entry! We need to know breeds, so we can create the right number of breed specific prizes!)

REFUND POLICY:

- Requests received prior to pre-entry closing date will receive a full refund minus a $10 processing fee per dog/entry form. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event the request is received after the pre-entry closing date, a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the judge or veterinarian or barred from competition by action of the show committee. - Fees WILL BE refunded in full, if the show committee must cancel the show for reason of weather conditions, riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions. Fees WILL NOT BE refunded to anyone who is unable to make it to the show for the reasons listed above or any other reason outside the control of the committee, if the show is still held. - The show giving club, their agents, and employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damaged, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or any of their dogs or property. - Dog MUST have a UKC registration or listing number to be entered into regular classes.

SHOW SITE INFORMATION

Grooming/Crate Space:
We have plenty of outdoor crate spacing. Please bring a pop up tent and chairs if you would like. There will be no electricity available at grooming sites. If you are in need of electric, please book a camping spot with electric. No generators will be allowed at grooming spots. Silent power sources will be allowed. Dogs may NOT be left over night. Dogs may NOT be left to bark incessantly. Apple Blossom Kennels is not responsible for any of your belongings. Leaving them overnight is at your own risk. Please keep your space clean

Camping Info:
Hookups available on-site. Please see the Isanti County Fairgrounds for more camping information, times and map.

Set Up Time: 

You may setup your crates, chairs, tent etc. starting May 11th at 5PM. However, please ensure you stay out of the way of any volunteers/staff setting up the show site. 

Tear Down Time:

All equipment, tents, chairs, dogs, etc. must be removed by 7pm on Sunday May 14th. 

Poop/Pee Policy:
- All exhibitors MUST PICK UP ALL DOG POOP (indoor and outdoor) at the show site location and hotel sites. Please ensure you are watching your dog at ALL TIMES as not to miss any poop or pee needing to be cleaned up. Vendors:
